Building a house or adding a driveway? Here's why concrete is the better choice:

  1. Flexibility in color and design allows you to express your individuality and creativity.
  2. Concrete is naturally light-reflective increasing visibility.
  3. Concrete's long-life means you're not incurring the expense of resurfacing it every time you turn around.
  4. Clean, straight edges. The beautiful aesthetics of concrete improve the overall appearance of your home.
  5. Concrete is durable in hot climates. NC heat makes asphalt soft and soft asphalt can potential transfer to the soles of your shoes...
and into your home or car.
  6. Concrete is made from local raw materials and waste product, which is nice for the environment.
  7. Concrete is 100% recyclable and renewable.
  8. We're here to guide you through the process with our years of expertise!

Concrete is incredibly strong and versatile.

If you live in an area plagued by wildfires, reinforced concrete, highly resistant to fire....and to water, is the best building material you can hope for.

Concrete doesn't burn and exposure to fire or heat doesn't cause it to release toxic fumes. It's pretty much fire-proof. Even better, it's slow rate of thermal conductivity makes it a fire shield. Your concrete constructed building will survive a fire despite everything else around it going up in flames.

Interestingly, the addition of membranes or the use of special mixes can make concrete virtually waterproof. This makes it an ideal building material for underground structures like basements and parking structures.

Did you know that concrete is the best material for driveways and road construction?

Beautiful Concrete Driveway.

Even though the initial cost of construction may be a little higher than asphalt, roads and driveways constructed of concrete last longer and require less maintenance. A well-constructed concrete driveway will last 50 years. Asphalt will last about 20. This makes concrete the most cost-effective and environmentally-friendly choice.

The Romans were movers and shakers.

The Romans were the first to fully exploit arched construction. They also mixed lime, water and volcanic ash and called it 'pozzolana.' The Roman civil engineer, Vitruvius, wrote about four types of concrete; black, red, grey, and white.

Understanding how remarkable this new building material was, the Romans employed its waterproof qualities in constructing their port at Cosa in the later second and early first centuries B.C. Amazingly, three of its concrete piers still stand as a testament to the Roman's engineering and the durability of concrete.

See, concrete is more fascinating than you thought. Isn't it?
